As Office Manager and Human Resource Generalist for CommonHealth ACTION, Mr. Wesley is primarily responsible for the management of day-to-day administrative and internal operations. He plays a vital role in the efficiency and effectiveness of personnel and human resource management programs, facilities management, financial systems, executive management support, information technology and internal policies and procedures implementation. His broad knowledge, adaptability, dedication, assertiveness and business acumen offer 'behind the scenes' organizational stability for CommonHealth ACTION's programmatic public health work and outreach.
Though his public health experience began with CommonHealth ACTION in mid 2010 he has held critical management positions in non-profit organizations for over a decade in the areas of Workforce Training and Development, Human Resources, Community Development, Human Services, Veteran's Assistance, Homelessness and Poverty, as well as Pro Bono and Public Interest Legal Services.
Over the years, Mr. Wesley has gained valuable experience serving in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Prior to joining CHA, he served as an Operations Manager at the Pro Bono Institute, State Policy Associate at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Employment & Training Instructor at Goodwill of Greater Washington, DC, and Employment Specialist at Rappahannock Goodwill Industries. He was also a Resident Manager at New Hope Housing, Shelter Coordinator at Carpenter's Shelter, and served as an Advisory Board Member for Ignatia House, a U.S. VETS homeless services program. He has previous experience in a variety of other industries as a Staffing Coordinator at Contemporary Nursing Solutions, Human Resources Generalist at Northrop Grumman Corporation, Career/Job Coach at Jones, O. and E&E Enterprises Global. He held numerous management, training and leadership positions as a Combat Service Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm (Persian Gulf), Operations Restore Hope (Somalia), Operations Just Cause (Panama), Operation Helping Hand (Costa Rica), Joint Task Force – Uphold Democracy (Haiti), and Hurricane Mitch Disaster Relief Operations in Central America.
Mr. Wesley attended Southern Illinois University School of Human Services, as a Workforce Education, Training and Development major and St Leo University as a Business Management major. In addition, he earned certificates from a number of management and leadership academies in the U.S. Army. Dedicated to the needs of all Americans, throughout his career, Mr. Wesley has focused his efforts on supporting projects and initiatives that provide inclusive alternatives for the disadvantaged, in the areas of access to justice, socio-economic equality and health equity.
