Dear PLACE MATTERS Colleagues:
On behalf of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies and its Health Policy Institute, we want to welcome you to the 10th PLACE MATTERS Design Lab! The Baltimore, District of Columbia, and Prince George's County Teams have worked hard in conjunction with CommonHealth ACTION to plan this exciting meeting, which will focus on the relationship between education and health, as well as strategies to empower youth. We have an exciting lineup of speakers and workshops planned for this meeting, and hope that you find the conference stimulating.
As you know, we expect PLACE MATTERS will enrich our collective work to effectively reduce health inequities by focusing on their complex underlying causes and defining strategies to address them. More than ever, the economic recession and deepening social and economic inequality make this work vitally important. We therefore greatly appreciate your commitment to this work. We are certain that our hard work will pay off in the form of equitable opportunities for good health for all!
Sincerely,
Dr. Brian D. Smedley
Vice President
Director, Health Policy Institute
Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies
