With support from the Indian Health Service, the National Indian Health Board commissioned CommonHealth ACTION to design the first national tribal public health capacity study in the US. This study was designed to characterize and create a snapshot of programmatic capacity available in Indian Country focused on preventing disease before people become ill and promoting health and well-being of all American Indians and Alaska Natives. These data will provide a national baseline to inform future funding and program development focused on strengthening Tribal capacity to protect and improve population health.
