    Program Manager

As a Program Manager at CommonHealth ACTION, Janelle delivers technical assistance and develops and implements projects that promote equitable outcomes through leadership development and intentional capacity-building.  As a change agent focused on improving workplace culture, she helps clients align human capital initiatives with key organizational strategies.
As one of CHA’s Master Trainers for our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Institute, Janelle helps to institutionalize equity in agencies, organizations, and businesses, which starts by looking at how history has shaped opportunities for health and well-being for those living in the U.S.  Within the Institute, Janelle co-develops evidence-based curricula for groups of all sizes, demographics, and sectors that prepares participants to decide and act more equitable through policies, programs, practices. She also provides coaching and leadership support to new trainers through our Train-the-Trainer model.

Before joining the management team, in her previous role as Special Assistant, Janelle had the opportunity to support the organization in a much different capacity. In this role, she took on responsibilities that included being the Board of Directors liaison and small projects budget manager, onboarding new hires, updating and creating organizational policies and practices, and supporting our Resource Advisor and Internship programs.  It was in this role that she had the opportunity to hone her negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills that she brings to the table today.  Janelle received a BS in Finance from Morgan State University and has an M.B.A from the University of Baltimore. She is currently obtaining a certificate in Leadership Psychology online at Cornell University.  She is based out of CommonHealth ACTION’s Washington, DC office.
