Montgomery County Equity and Social Justice Workgroup

CommonHealth ACTION’s Institute for Public Health Innovation is working with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (MCDHHS) to support the development of an equity initiative within the county. We are assisting MCDHHS with issue framing, goal setting, and messaging in support of the department’s existing and emerging work on health disparities and issues of health equity; providing guidance and training to key staff to support a sustainable equity effort; and gathering qualitative data regarding perceptions, knowledge, attitudes, and experiences related to equity via key informant interviews with MCDHHS staff and partners. For the next step of the work, IPHi will help MCDHHS develop a logic model, strategic plan, and work plan that will guide their work as they move towards the development of a comprehensive equity plan.
