Through seasoned staff and a growing network of partners, the Institute for Public Health Innovation offers the following functions and services:
- Convening –Facilitating coordination and planning across disciplines, sectors, and jurisdictions and providing a neutral place to address challenging determinants of health in communities most affected by poor health outcomes.
- Innovations and Systems Expansion – Serving as an agile vehicle for designing, testing, evaluating, and disseminating innovative public health approaches.
- Training and Capacity Building – Strengthening the capacity of government and community-based organizations through education, training, and technical assistance.
- Research and Evaluation – Providing an independent resource for the community to support research and evaluation to improve population health efforts.
- Policy and Advocacy – Conducting policy analyses, providing objective information, and educating policymakers to help improve health policy.
- Resource Development –Leveraging national resources and providing cost-effective services that bring additional funding into the region when a non-governmental mechanism is helpful or desired.
- Grantmaking – Serving as a competent and neutral intermediary for managing and distributing grant resources on behalf of foundations or government agencies.
- Fiscal Agent Support and Business Services – Providing back-office fiscal agent services for emerging nonprofit organizations and university-based research endeavors dedicated to improving the public's health. Business services include provision of temporary or more long-term staffing solutions to government or private sector agencies experiencing personnel restrictions. Additional services include program and grants management, contracting, purchasing, and nonprofit accounting.
